ETTV American News/Super TV USA

Thanks to previous experience with the NTD TV interview, I felt a lot more confident when I first walked into the studio and was directed into the waiting room. This is my 2nd interview on television and was aired on November 6, 2017

Update: While the interview was aired, ETTV had to take down the link since the entire NAMI segment contains photos that a member did not want to be shown.
If you are interested in viewing the interview, then the link below is a youtube video that has the footage.

Youtube Video

I created a youtube video to broadcast NAMI San Fernando Valley organization to the internet.

As of right now, I am trying to get the video on Youtube since the video is way too big to put on blogger. Keep your eyes open!

Update: The video is here!

World Journal Interview and Report

I was interviewed over phone and email with a reporter from the World Journal, and the reporter broadcasted NAMI San Fernando Valley and my volunteer work on October 31, 2017. The reporters also asked me assist them with a specialized health journal (will be published in 2018) to talk about mental illnesses and provide resources!

The Studio City Sherman Oaks Encino News

I decided to submit a part of my article series regarding mental illness to the The Studio City Sherman Oaks Encino News. This particular newspaper is part of the community that some of my friends live, so I thought that I would try to raise awareness about mental illness and hopefully remove some of the stigma to help out my friends. Sure it is optimistic thinking, but I like to think positive and it has to start somewhere right?

The name of the article is "Raising Awareness of a Mental Illness, Starting with Teenagers". I got the news this morning that The Studio City Sherman Oaks Encino News planned to publish my article this December. Stay tuned for the link!

It's finally here!

Cathay Bank

I emailed flyers advertising NAMI and its free resources to the Cathay Bank Marketing Department since it is a bank that consists of mainly Chinese clients. The bank offered free advertisements for me since they were interested and thought it was practical information that could help a lot of people!

While they were happy about the idea and promised to post it, I have not gotten any links about the actual flyer. Stay tuned for the link!

KAZN AM 1300

I talked to a KAZN AM 1300 (biggest Chinese radio station in California, so I had some crazy jitters when talking to him on phone) DJ Gao Ning through phone and emails to advertise NAMI; he thought it would be very beneficial and suggested to have it on the website so that it will stay there forever. When it was published, he mentioned to me that he could not provide my name onto the advertisement because of company policies.

Conejo Chinese Culture Association Magazine

I decided to submit another article to a different magazine: The Conejo Chinese Culture Association Magazine. This one is located in Ventura Country and has a large Asian population. I intended to target this particular audience since as an Asian myself, our culture seems to have a more apparent stigma towards mental illnesses. By submitting an article there, I hope that the article can at least offer a different perspective on mental illness for everyone to read and maybe even change a person's view on mental illness.

The article will be published in April 2018 Issue. I will post the link as soon as possible. Stay frosty!

The San Fernando Valley Sun

I turned in an article talking about the impacts of mental illnesses on high school and my volunteer experiences to the The San Fernando Valley Sun. I was surprised and happy that my article managed to get through and be published!

New Tang Dynasty Television & Epotch Times

This is the first TV and newspaper interview I had ever done! Even though I did a fair amount of speech and debate and had some experiences with public speaking, I still got the butterflies. Took me 30 minutes to finish a 20 second segment! This interview was aired on September 22, 2017

Korean Times Newspaper

This is my 2nd ever newspaper publication. I was pretty scared when I first sent it to the editors, but looking at the finished product, it looked very good to me!
